Background
Dr. J. Will Robbins is a Wyoming native. Born in Laramie, he also spent portions of his childhood in Rawlins and Wheatland before graduating from Laramie High School.
He attended the United States Air Force Academy and has served in the Air Force since 2003. After graduating with distinction from the Academy, Dr. Robbins attended Georgetown University School of Medicine. He was then selected for neurosurgical residency training at the University of Nebraska, where he completed his training in neurological surgery.
Advanced Training
During residency, Dr. Robbins also completed a socioeconomic fellowship jointly sponsored by the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. This experience provided additional training in healthcare policy, physician leadership, and the economic issues affecting patients and the delivery of neurosurgical care.
Career
After completing residency, Dr. Robbins served as a staff neurosurgeon at Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Ohio. During that time, he also served as a volunteer associate professor at the University of Cincinnati and as a staff neurosurgeon at Kettering Medical Center.
Dr. Robbins continues to serve as a flight surgeon in the Air National Guard. He also serves as the neurosurgery consultant to the Surgeon General of the United States Air Force, providing specialty guidance and supporting neurosurgical readiness across the Air Force.
Coming Home
When the opportunity arose to return home to Wyoming, continue his military career, and provide neurosurgical care to patients throughout the region, Dr. Robbins eagerly accepted. He is passionate about providing thoughtful, patient-centered, and cost-conscious care and is especially grateful for the opportunity to serve patients in his home state.
